The sweating fear of the oppressed

Lost in the middle of a dark, moist city
Hundreds of crestfallen beings are walking steadily
Prisoners of the greed, ambition was their wish
Mischievous was the offer, or was it a trap instead?
Tempting offerings shook them to the guts
Naive, though, they were - Trust in this realm is rare
Looking up to the skies, only pale rocks are seen
Gigantic skeletons supporting the weight of the solid clouds
Night
Storm
Cold
Grim
Suddenly started to float
Liquid flooding all around
Hopeless beginning to drown
No life will be left down here

Going against nature of things
Defying logic that defines this realm
Crawling between the cracks
Trying to avoid what's inevitable
Think about how many fell
Believing in something too good to be real
Blinded by a shield of greed
A natural impulse to take advantage
What are you willing to do just to survive?
What are you willing to deny, just stretch your lifespan?
To whom are you supposed to sell your soul?
What are you afraid of? You know it's your time!

Looking for any chance to steal
It's just a soulless greedy body

You have your objective set, your shelter’s on the other end
Warm blooded, easy prey
Tired breath of agitation, ruthless eyes watching every move
Slithering with only one thing in mind
Moving skin, so confusing
Something’s going on, you feel the danger close to you
You know the path; others have gone
Though you haven’t heard of any of them coming back
False certainty of secure pass
Deceits and makes you fall into a trap
Slithering, reptile after mammal
Watching, waiting
Hungry for your human flesh
Ruthless constriction
Terrified human mice
Can’t distinguish it from the dark
Strange sense of allurement
To two beautiful diamonds
Offered in the midst of the night
Excited by those eyes
That can make you tremble
Thinking of the power they hold
Your head says “stay away”
But your body just keeps moving to them
What a powerful expectation
A deadly one
Eager for supreme power
Can’t realize how easy it is to manipulate that hunger
A matter of time, it’s all you need
To shift from your fur and become something else
To betray your own breed
While being crushed thinking that you will be
Slithering, and no one will escape
Watching, waiting
Hungry for their human flesh

No heat is felt

Can’t measure the latent danger
